You can go full lockdown, but people can and will find your personal docs, where you live, your numbers, etc. You can prosecute, but it's a big time sink, etc, etc. It's easier to just not create a big fuss.

A lot of people don't have iron skin. I don't get it either, but they just can't deal with it. They either get guilted for shutting off communication and bullied a bit anyway or have to sift through the harassment, and it only gets worse if they bring attention to it.
It's not the worst thing in the world, but it's still an issue.
