There is no audio for the 2 seconds—I think there's where the desyncing happened

So here´s what i think is happening
The vision with peri and friends is real, and lapis is seeing it through some hologram shit that she either found or is a secret power of hers (wouldnt be the first time a character receives a power up out of nowhere). If its a device, its that orb that shes using to see peri and friends.
So steven finds her on the place with that device by accident, they have a talk, and she starts to sing.
And i do think its happening on earth and lapis came back, but didnt tell anyone because she is a coward. Or maybe just to pick up that orb thing.

I think Lapis is alone in the barn, Peri and the gems are the beach, and Steven is on the moonbase. The orb is showing Steven what different gems are up to because that's what it does, and how the Diamonds would keep watch over the members of their colony

that's the moon base orb.

steven goes to the moon after what happened in "jungle moon", hoping for more information about pink and the other diamonds, but finds lapis there. lapis has been observing the earth since she left because, deep down, she still learned to love what was on the planet. the orb is a spectation/observation device, so that diamonds and other gem elites can oversee work on the connected colony without actually having to go there.

the stuff in the clip is lapis and steven looking on at the temple/beach. peridot has a support group there to make her feel better, while lapis has been wallowing by herself, with nothing to make things better.

So, assuming that's the moon base orb, I guess the barn's on the moon? I thought she'd go someplace with water, but I guess it's nice that she's still close by.

Actually, that still sounds fucking weird because she should figure the moon is a very likely place the Diamonds will visit if they return, so I don't think this is where this scene takes place.

Lapis chose to avoid the rest of the Crystal Gems at literally every turn its her fault she never became one of them they were just respecting her wishes to be left alone

It definitely sounds like 'That Distant Shore,' which makes me happy because Escapism felt too short to be an impressive singing premiere for her. This song, on the other hand, sounds like it has the potential to be really good, though I thought this Lapis face at the beginning looked kind of goofy in that context. Since the lyrics are about her being comfortable in the sea and the title of the song refers to the shore being "distant", it sounds like she's singing about how she always isolates herself by surrounding herself with the ocean so no one can get to her, but also realizes that it's hurting her to be away from those who care about her (recall Alone at Sea, "You can't let one bad experience with water change that!" "...it was more than one."). So it's like a drug for her, she knows that she should just let other people in who can support her but somehow she can't stop herself from running away and shutting them out.

Near the end of the clip, you can see that the "orb" is actually a hologram of the Earth and starts transforming into a Gem colony, akin to It Could've Been Great, so I'm not sure if it's that orb from the moon bases, but the background definitely looks like some kind of Homeworld decor. We can also see the lighting hitting Steven, so I think he is indeed there with her in person and not dream projecting again.

Now we just have Escapism left to figure out, I doubt Lapis would get two whole songs within such a short span of each other. Speaking of which, will Escapismposter keep using Lapis for their images?

If it’s unbubbled any place that isn’t at least a planet’s distance from the earth there would be disastrous consequences. Peridot and steven, because something that i dont think the crew has realized, is that they both have a very interesting relationship. They both have different, yet similar points of view in life. Peridot has learned to love earth, but she still sees it as a planet to be used to create better resources. The peridot from message received is the same as she is now. She wants to harvest the planet but in a way that can still make it able to give life. She still has homeworld views, but they are now used for good. Nah actually the could come back very soon. SU likes to use its in-universe shows to foreshadow stuff. In the Canadian drama that Peridot and Lapis like, one of the characters dives to the bottom of a lake to retrieve a friendship bracelet(or something like that). Diving to the bottom of the ocean(or wherever the limb enhancers are) to retrieve them sounds like something Lapis could do, especially if she does it as an apology present for Peridot.

There's a fusion involved in one of those situations.

Feelings get all mixed-up and amplified when fused. Lars messed with Steven (and Connie once when they first met) all the time and no grudges were held because they were able to think rationally. It's was their first time forming Stevonnie and Connie had anxieties about dancing in public. It's not really Kevin's fault but he squeezed himself in a intimate situation at the wrong time and the kids are holding that against him.

The cluster project took multiple gem types and haphazardly clumped them together to make monsters. The only value those things had for a project to fix Pink would be serving as an obvious example of what not to do.

I know Garnet's perspective is typically biased and unreliable because all she cares about is her stupid fusion, but she could have been right that it was just the Diamond's way of getting back at the CGs out of anger and petty, as well as a way for YD to erase the past and ignore her feelings, which we know is what she wants to do now thanks to That Will Be All.

It was either made as an experimental weapon for currently unclear reason or it was simply made as YD's own twisted version of fusion with the purpose of making fallen CGs suffer.

Just to play Devil's Advocate for a moment: yes it would. It would help determine if the process is even viable and act as a prototyping stage. The Cluster is to determine if shards can even be fused, and if possible, can they be restored to some semblance of life and manifest. The second step would be repeating the fusion process on the pieces of single Gems to determine if re-fused shattered bits will manifest as the same entity that was shattered. Third step would be to restore Pink.

I did once read a theory that White Diamond might be the one trying to revive Pink but I'm not so sure now. It was tied in with an analogy that Yellow is like Amethyst in which they both deal with their problems via anger and Blue is like Pearl in that they deal with their problems via sorrow, making White like Garnet, who is the leader and more aloof. It was something about how Garnet encourages Steven to be himself rather than be Rose though she acknowledges he's a lot like Rose, where White might want to recreate Pink which uses up a lot of Homeworld's resources and which is why only Era 2 gems are produced now. I don't remember all the details of the theory.

Jasper has been shown stubbornly staying at the bottom of the ocean after Malachite in both the show and official artwork, even crying in one of them. This is symbolism for how she keeps herself submerged in her problems and self loathing and has a hard time moving on. She will be brought out of her metaphorical sad "sea" and onto her metaphorical healing "shore" after accepting help from Steven, we can now see that they are using similar metaphors with Lapis and her new song, and it is only a matter of time before Jasper receives the same support she got.

Jasper will be redeemed after she starts loving and accepting herself and her origins, then she will fuse with Steven and live happily ever after with him and her Earth gem sisters.

In an episode like alone at sea theres a scene with lapis admitting shes a shitty person,, but that statement goes nowhere and is never developed. And that same episode ends with steven being a white knight for her against the "mean" jasper.
Keep in mind this scenario happened in a boat, in the middle of the ocean, so lapis has more chances of defending herself than steven.

That also happened with the raising the barn episode. They make something with stating how peridot white knighting lapis made her worse, but they dont really follow through with it completely.
There was a cut scene that was about lapis asking peridot if she feared her, which was cut because rebecca is a fucking pussy.

I don't feel any romantic tension between Lapis and Peridot, in stark contrast with the troubling, intense bond between Lapis and Jasper. I really don't give a shit about a potential "reunion" between Peri and Lapis until they undergo significant changes/development during their time apart. Lapis finding a reason to actually love the Earth rather than playing this farce with Peridot, while Peridot does something to actually contribute to protecting the earth, like finally making use of her mechanical skills again rather than making shitty art.

I found Jasper and Lapis' fucked up fusion really compelling and wish they would have spent more time on Malachite or Lapis doing other crazy shit instead of wasting over a season on the memebarn and meep morps. I believe most of Lapis' potential has always laid with the dark and spiteful side of her shown in her earlier episodes and wish that could have been a bigger part of her character, she kind of just feels like she's been downgraded into being a sad lazy girl since season three. I was never a fan of Peridot's metal powers because they come across as pretty random and unnecessary, and since the start of her redemption I was hoping that she'd become the cool goal oriented technician of the group who'd rely on her brains to keep up with the other more powerful CGs by spending most of her time making badass weapons and robots, that would have made her character more endearing to me than her childish comedy relief and out of the blue metal powers do. Putting sad lazy Lapis and childish comedy relief Peridot together in the barn is like completely holding them back from being the really interesting and memorable characters they could be, so hopefully the boring barn memes and drama will blow over soon and the writers will finally do something else with both of them. I think they have dropped the ball with a lot of the characters over the past couple of seasons though.

It's probably not paradox free time travel though, the only time we've seen it in use, it literally caused the person using it to smash it in the past, thus killing themself. I also theorize that whatever gem or being made the time devices in the first place is long since dead or shattered, which means no more can be made, and nobody is alive that actually knows for sure which devices are the reals among the fakes.

You know what's the problem? They have a big lack of focus. They want to keep doing smaller, slice of life episodes where they have fun adventures.

But at the same time they want to do more story based episodes and focus on developing Steven and the rest of the gems and the lore.

And the biggest obstacle to the latter is that story based shows are not selling well according to CN. It's better to have bottle episodes or once that anyone can watch from the get go than to expect them to jump into a show that is focused on story.

kids don't really like SU. My little cousin can't stand it and i've heard other people with kids say the same. Kids don't really like it. I think it's slow to them, and they enjoy slapstick. a lot of morals aren't very simple and kids won't be able to grasp them as well. not a lot of kids even know about abusive relationships and stuff.
Also to add on, kids don't give a heck about reruns. I mean, as a kid, I would watch reruns of spongebob over and over, and while i was excited to see new episodes, i'd still sit through tons of reruns with my sister. Even in this argument a lot of it is adult. Most kids don't have anxiety, they don't care about sexual identity and shit.
Steven Universe is a show for adults and most adults don't watch cartoons on TV anymore anyways. They just go online. Also, SU is not a lot like pokemon and samurai jack, because like i said, those shows understood their audience is mostly children. I feel like SU pretends to be a kids show but is also trying to be a show for young adults too. It doesn't understand how to be both like samurai jack did.

There were other series in the past that did well with the format it were in, aside from Avatar the Last Airbender.

Hey Arnold! Had moderate success and with each season some of the characters went through their own character development, hell, Helga on the Couch is one of the series most mature episodes and one of the memorable episodes.
