Called the number and all I got were modem noises. But this was like 1991 and no one knew wtf those were. My friends were all gathered by the phone, listening to "the phone screaming" and it spooked us out more than whatever gay little story the prerecorded voice probably would have told us. Hung up the phone in fright.
Parents never asked me about the charge, so I guess the call didn't actually go through. Dunno where the modem noises came from; we didn't have a computer.
