All you could discuss would be the technical quality, which couldn't be much more than a list of objective statements. You'd have to be legitimately autistic to count that as a discussion.
Similarly, restricting communications to merely "positive" seems equally futile. Without challenge and criticism, there's no motivation for growth or improvement. In a world where people only said positive things, we'd still be living in caves.
Maybe it's just because I've been on /co/ since the beginning (and 4chan/other message boards for a few years before that), but this has always been my favourite place for discussion. Even with the vulgarity and shitposting, I appreciate the fact that you get raw, unfiltered and honest reactions to media. Debate always suffers when you bring egos into the equation.
