>>97682302I'd say she used to be good even disregarding waifu cred. Early Marceline was charismatic, exciting, and cool as fuck, from her start as an enemy of Finn and Jake and then later to being a neutral ally who still plays tricks on them.
Then she got backstory, which was pretty cool.
Then they started focusing on her relationship with PB, which I only found interesting in What Was Missing.
Then she got kind of boring. I don't know how to describe why I don't like her as much anymore, but she lost so much of her edge. The only time I found her cool in the past few years was parts of Stakes where she was kicking ass but that's it. She's too nice and it makes her kind of boring. There's a reason people only care about her for Bubbline and jerking to.
Still one of the sexiest spoons in cartooning though.
