>>97143077I don't know anything about Jungle Cubs airing on Playhouse Disney. My one and only exposure to the show was during its original run on ABC. As a 12-year old fan of The Jungle Book and TaleSpin, I found the premise of kid-sized Baloo, Louie, Shere-Kahn, etc., ridiculously corny. The plots were all generic "Kid A follows troublemaking Kid B's lead and gets into mischief" affairs, and the show had none of the charm or musicality of the movie that inspired it. It appeared to be on every level a soulless cash-grab; I didn't buy it then, and I'm not buying it now.
101 Dalmations: The Series was more of the same: loud, obnoxious kid actors going through the motions of predictable plots with hardly any respect paid to the film that inspired it. Calling it a great series is in my view tantamount to calling 101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure a "great" sequel to the original movie.
