>>97165237Mom was a good mother, if somewhat unable to bridge the gap to a very secluded child while having to juggle the approaching apocalypse.
>>97165250There are so many things wrong with the words you are saying, Jesus fuck.
First, no, it wasn't about steel, it was about the sound of cutlery, because that actually sounds like a sword, metal gears do not.
Second, the purpose of a player's land isn't to torment them, the only character to ever think that was Karkat, and his entire schtick over that was his persecution complex about his blood.
Third, the "traumas" we discover as a teenager are the ones that aren't actually traumas, but us being whiny little shits. Real discoveries come much later in life when we have the tools and context to confront them.
Fourth, that's fucking irrelevant, because Dave confronted the truth about Bro way the fuck back during Act 3.
Fifth, we never once saw any of these anxieties until mentioned in the abuse dump.
Sixth, the idea of a character just suddenly realizing some massive internal struggle is the lamest excuse for story telling you could possibly try.
And seventh, and most importantly, no, for fucks sake no, we don't want Dave to ball up his feeling or whatever the fuck. We want him to be an emotionally mature individual who has reached some closure to his past and has learned to accept it and understand that it doesn't diminish him. That was the entire God damn point of hundreds and hundreds of pages of his arc, remember? The egg, the unbreakable sword, the sword in the stone, the better Dave from the future, the time travel escapades of Act 5, all that noise? It was all about Dave realizing that his feelings of inadequacy were unfounded, that he only needed to be patient in himself and he would grow into who he needed to be. But instead, that got thrown out for a pathetic attempt at forced drama that showed the same level of tact and understanding that Hussie displayed in his attempt at portraying alcoholism.
