Raimi first two Spidey movies were great, I just hated Tobey as Peter and Kristen as MJ due to them being typical stock Hollywood characters (the underdog hero and the hollywood damsel in distress) are not the fun-loving girl wearing a mask to hide from her dark past and the smart-ass with a sweet side who couldn't handle tragedy everyone keeps forgetting about, they came across and whiny, selfish and annoying. Everyone and everything else was great, Defoe was a fun Goblin, JK was godly as Jonah and all the other characters were great, plus it was the closest it felt to feel like a actual comic book movie like Burton's Batman. Plus as much as people as deny it they haven't aged very well.
Now I'm going to defend Homecoming, while they fucked up the supporting cast (apart from Keaton's Vulture), they did kind of get Peter right being a wise-ass, apart from making him more a innocent puppy following his Master Tony. Which isn't that far apart from Sony following the MCU around, but the difference being that Sony takes a piss on the MCU leg now and again with the Venom and that awful Black Cat/Silver Sable movie set in it's own cinematic universe.
