From what I've observed, Western artists, when talking cartoons, usually seem to veer either to the extreme of totally casual and completely cartoonish, which zaps the work of gravity and drama, or the extreme of Marvel and DC style cape comics realism, which is often stiff

I've found that Eastern fan art seems to remember that excitement or emotion is not necessarily indulgence - they like seeing action, exhilaration, drama, even melodrama in their pieces
