How will the DCEU play Darkseid up as a big threat now that JL showed that his forces are pathetic? With proper info the US military could've beat them without too much trouble. Contrast Krypton.

Zod's group was far more dangerous than Darkseid's army even WITHOUT their superpowers, and that was just a couple dozen guys with essentially mining tools. Zod's ship is a retrofitted prison, unarmed and unarmoured. Their personal armour, guns and shuttles were scavenged from dessicated corpses, and the World Engine was never intended to be used as a weapon. Yet even the guns they hastily bolted on their shuttles can HURT SUPERMAN, and the tentacles guarding the World Engine were also capable of holding him back, in addition to killing all life in Earth in less than a day as a side effect.

Imagine what the whole military of Krypton was capable of at its height with that technology. Millions of World Engines and ships way tougher than Zod's. Now imagine how ridiculously powerful this universe's version of Brainiac must have been to BTFO them so easily. Assuming they still go with the iconic backstory where he abducted Kandor.

Darkseid can't help but look puny by comparison. So what's the plan? His uncle and second in command is randomly thousands of times weaker than him and he sent the equivalent of cavemen with spears to conquer planets for him for the lulz? Or will the DCEU stay consistent and just admit that Darkseid is not at the top of this universe's food chain?
