>>96847973>The fact that anyone can handle lactose at all is only because we've pretty much forced our bodies to take it over the last few centuriesYou seem to need a bit of an explanation.
The majority of the population gets lactose intolerant when they reach a certain age ( around 15), so they can't drink milk like they did as children.
A limited number of people doesn't get lactose intolerant. Because genetic.
After a few millions years of existing, humanity masters the domestication of animals. Thus not only babies can drink milk but also adults. Most adults being lactose intolerant, milk is used a lot for children and making products like cheese which adults can eat.
Fast forward a few thousands years later. A lot of adults can drink milk. Not the majority but a lot more than before domestication.
What happend is that the people who could drink milk spread their genes through the genepool of the population.
This means that being able to drink milk is an evolutionary advantage.
We didn't force our bodies. Children whose both parents are lactose intolerant will be lactose intolerant. They can be forced to drink milk all their life, it won't change a thing.
