No I'm not you. The sad truth of the reality is just that this mindset is far more commonly understood than you might realize; especially since we're on 4chan. And guaranteed only because we're pathetically shipping cartoon children in a last ditch effort to get any enjoyment out of anything romantic.
Everyone goes through the same shit. Love is propped up as the greatest emotion ever, and it's just in human nature to connect with the idea so immediately, paint an ideal in our head. Some people take it more seriously in practice as opposed to theory more than others. The people that are the former are noramlfags. The latter is people like us, not counting in betweens.
Everyone goes through the same shit though. Eventually we all realize that the emotion that seemed so appealing doesn't really exist; that the only viable, highest form of love is honestly just a very dedicated friendship with that sweet tint of special happiness. It's false advertisement, it's work, and really not all that much more meaningful than a normal friendship unless you have the capacity to feel that way. Fall for the false advertisement too hard, you just deprived yourself of said capacity forever. Happens to the lot of people, whether they date or not, which is why you so often hear the most realistic people say in their 20s and 30s "yeah fuck that". I don't know why the other half even bothers being so vocal about "lol love is so great get a bf/gf already". They also weirdly enough from my experience tend to be the most miserable people I know as a result of love, like fuck off dude I ain't doing this shit again.
Guess we all just wanted to escape that but apparently fucking not.
