Americans want freedom over efficiency. We want to be able to replace crappy leaders, even if it means we get another crappy leader. Even if it means the trains are always late.
Just look at guns. We want guns, we want the protection in brings, and the freedom it guarantees. Even if it means that we have to deal with mass shootings all the time. Freedom is more important to us then efficiency or safety.
And at the same time, we have much less problems with Muslim immigrants, for many many reasons, freedom just being one of them.
Europe, though, Europe has a problem. Most European countries don't have a history of freedom and democracy. It's new and fresh to them. They don't have the history of mass immigration that the US has; and now, suddenly, they're bringing in vast amounts of foreign immigrants, many of which are the worse sort possible, a population that's overwhelming the indigenous people, and have no idea how to integrate them.
Europe hosted the bloodiest war in history IN LIVING MEMORY, Europe perfected ethnic cleansing and genocide IN LIVING MEMORY, and then repeated it again IN OUR LIFETIMES in the former Yugoslavia. And now that we've finally gotten the bloodiest, most violent continent on the planet to finally calm down and start developing a history of peace and democracy, their leaders ship in hordes people who metaphorically walk up to the sleeping dogs that are European nationalism, and start kicking them in the face, over and over and over again.
If we don't do something about it, those dogs are going to wake up. And they're going to be hungry and bloodthirsty, and they're not just going to fight each other this time. And then WE'RE ALL SCREWED.
I'd rather not get drafted to fight WWIII, and have to put down the Nazi menace again, for a group of people who would also kill me for my race and religion, just like the Nazis would.
