I like Marco being with Jackie even though deep down I know Star will be endgame.
But I'm not a Jackiefag for Marco's sake. I love Jackie because she feels genuinely nice and supportive without being so saccharinely sweet or cheerfully disposed all the time, so she still feels like a real person despite what everyone likes to claim.
She's passionate not only about her interests (skateboarding/history to some extent), but the big part is that she's very eager to share them with people. She jumped up for freakin' joy at the idea of teaching Marco to skate.
She acknowledges awkwardness without making a big deal out of it. It's not unrealistic to find cringy stuff endearing if the intentions behind them are endearing. And considering all of Marco's circumstances, there was little reason for Jackie not to be flattered.
Also, ever since Marco revealed his feelings for Jackie in Sleepover, admitting the pedestal and saying he KNOWS she deserves someone that'll get to know her, I just want to actually see someone get to know her. You know, since one of the main characters actually made a big deal about that.
And THAT'S why the prospect of Jackie being dropped/made irrelevant pisses me off so much.
