>>96464767I think the dialogue is bad on most characters except Batman. I surprisingly liked Bruce's dialogue here. It feels like Miller Bats except less juvenile.
Joker has some cringy quips but even though I was not excited of the prospect of yet another Batman and Joker story, and I haven't enjoyed the character for ages it seems, here I rather liked him. I liked the simplicity in the way this book approaches Joker without the usual shoehorned subtext or him being a ridiculous Villain Sue (and compared to the other Batman Elseworlds coming out this week that stands out even more).
Really, I think the best part of this book is just simplicity. It's a simple story with gorgeous art and that's about it.
Probably won't be tremendously memorable in the future but if Issue 2 manages to keep it up this can join the other "oh yeah, that happened, it was aight" Elseworlds.
