>>95931933They aren't done, but they are panicking pretty hard right now. Mostly they're panicked that the story got out and refuses to go away, knowing that Papa Mouse will have to intervene at some point.
So far Disney brass have had nothing but issues with Marvel Comics brass. Not just Ike, but the day to day brass. They got off on the wrong foot over Big Hero 6.
The relationship was so bad the Disney licensed all of their children's comics to IDW after Marvel refused to publish Disney comics. Fast forward to Nick Spencer getting so much bad press over Captain Nazi and abusing Cap'n fans on social media, that Disney had to step in and force Marvel to change the story. Disney had their ABC News division issue a press statement revealing the ending g to SEPTEMBER the week the first issue came out, just to force Marvel to comply.
This is being discussed by Disney brass because enough Disney stockholders are seeing it online and asking about it, that Disney brass is worried about the Marvel office. Again.
Marvel has done everything they can think of to push sales numbers up, as a counter to any complaints. This is why they were literally giving almost the entire print run on titles like Mosaic and the Panther spinoffs away. If they can goose those circulation figures, they hope Disney won't notice the actual sales. But that's out now too.
Worse case scenario for the current Marvel staff #1: the publishing end moves to California and Marvel Studios takes charge, like what WB tried to do with DC by moving them to Burbank. Most of the current brass will either be forced to answer to the movie division, which (in Disney's mind) has their act together or they just won't be asked to join the new offices.
Worst case scenario for the current Marvel brass #2: Disney let's IDW publish everything. New material based on the movies and cartoons. Reprints of the classic material. Again, lots of job loss for current staff.
