I see John Bryne in three different ways.
>John Bryne: The ArtistExcellent. I can't think of a series he did where I thought the art wasn't up to snuff. His poses and characters defined the look of the X-Men for at least 10 years
>John Bryne: The WriterHit or miss, for every classic like his Superman:MOS, She-Hulk and FF runs, you have weird issues popping up here and there (Big Barda mind controlled rape, She-Hulk forced strip searched by SHIELD) to full on disgusting for no discernible reason.
Like a 13 YO rape and impregnation in Next Men, Teenage Lana and future Middle Age Superman kissing romantically in Superman/Batman: Generations, a bizarre "Quantum Leap"-like plot in his run on Doom Patrol where Robotman and his girlfriend and transported back in time 14 years and everyone see's them how they looked back then (Cliff with his human body and the gf as an 8 year old girl).
