>>95680428>The writers keep introducing new characters with little personality, have them fill a generic role in an episode, then doing nothing with them because the writers don't know what to do with them
Let's define "one-off characters" as "some asshole Star and Marco had to deal with as the plot of one episode who had no lasting impact and haven't been relevant since"
One-off characters in Season 1:
The Monster Arm, Gustav, The Pixie Queen, Lobster Claws, Princess Smoochy, Father Time (kind of), Helios
One-off characters in Season 2:
Willoughby & Lydia, the Goblin Dog goblin, the Quest Buy Gift Card, Hungry Larry, The Naysaya, Preston Change-O, Baby
Considering that Season 2 had almost twice as many episodes, and that Season 2 generally used its less plot-heavy to give screentime and development to established secondary characters like Buff Frog and River instead of pointless "school" or "Ludo attack" episodes, the exact opposite of what you're complaining about is actually happening.>rather than creating a strong secondary cast with a few character they can create complex stories with we get an endless stream of generic character who do nothing.
Ludo, Buff Frog, Moon, River, Glossaryck, the Magic High Commission, Jackie and Tom don't qualify as a strong secondary cast?
Pony Head, Kelly, Mina and Janna aren't all clearly going to get more character focus in Season 3 and beyond?
Eclipsa, Heinous and Rasticore don't obviously have a lot of backstory to be explored and aren't going to seize the villain spotlight with Toffee out of the picture?
