>>95101800>If you were a truck driver and your job was replaced by selfdriving trucks or something, wouldn't you care too? Before the Industrial Revolution, textiles industry was mostly humans manually sewing shit together and operating machines. Industrial Revolution suddenly made most of the workforce jobless because entire factories' worth of workers were being replaced by machinery. The unions tried to strike/sabotage the machines and demand that they get to keep their jobs despite the technological advancement. They didn't win.
That's just one example.
You should be worrying about what to do when (not if) you and your jobs get replaced by machines because you will always lose to the machines eventually.
I'd say "Sucks for the truck driver, they seem to be fucked" but what are you going to do? Tell people to stop developing self-driving cars? Nobody's going to listen to you, nobody wants to hamper useful technological progress in the name of helping some poor people keep jobs. I didn't initially catch it at first but "Logan" had a take on it where highways would be filled with self-driving trucks and I could totally see that happening eventually.
Getting mad that people like dealing with impersonal robots / real dolls instead of real women is pretty futile.
