The ending or overall? The ending is exactly what I expected. Overall? Disappointing considering how good the lead-up was, but it was pretty much your standard Marvel event in terms of quality. A handful of good scenes, a couple solid issues, but overall not worth reading.

it was... ok? like it wasn't CW2 bad but it wasn't groundbreaking either. Like I'm just not sure what the point of it was. I know there was obviously some Trump subtext and it was all about how putting too much trust in one person can go wrong but I just don't think they delivered the message properly. If Trump, in all of his insecurities and tantrum-throwing, were to read this, I don't think he'd feel personally attacked.

As ironic as it is, i feel like this anti-censorship story had a lot self censoring going on- both from Marvel and Spenser. Like there was so much backlash just going into the story that there were probably several rewrites and focus groups brought in to make sure that no one was offended, that they just made a story with no end game. you can tell they wanted to be a lot more extreme with the story, but had to reel themselves in to avoid too much backlash

Also, does anyone think they were way too hard on Hydra-Cap? Not that he wasn't an evil bastard or anything, he certainly was. But it was established that HC was literally our Cap with his memories rewritten in all os Spenser's stories. Then a new completely different Cap comes in and beats up and replaces the old one. But the old Cap was just the main Cap with memories altered. Its like if you had Alzheimers and started acting different and then your twin replaces you after kicking your ass and everyone declares your twin to be the new you. It's messed up a bit if you think about it. Or maybe I'm just looking at it wrong

Its like its at a point where I can't even pinpoint how much was bad about this, it was just kinda shit in too many ways.

Makes me wish Marvel had any concept of viewer feedback for their stories where they could hear from people telling them "This was shit and here's why, and here's how to change it" but I know those companies aren't really interested in making real stories anymore. They get off on people telling them its shit, to them that's a success, having people hate the story is a success to them because it means people are still talking about it, which tells me I shouldn't even do that. The only way I can make them change what they're doing even slightly is to stop caring entirely.

I think even supporting stories I like still filters into them giving stories like this more power in the long run.
