>>94375034Ducks are fucking big in Germany, Anon. They get more sales in a week than stuff in America in a month. Mostly because they are pretty much everywhere, in Supermarkets, in book shops, at gas stations etc. The numbers are even more fucked up when you consider they actually lost a shit ton of relevance, they were at 1000k/week in the 90's.
If their tie-in magazine manages to only get 1/4th of the sales Ducks currently get, they would still outsell everything on the American market per month and we are completly ignoring the fact that the German speaking area has less than 1/3 of the population of the US. If we would scale it up to US population, Ducks sell roughtly 2400k/month and DC superhero girls would sit at 600k/month.
Now the thing is that the comic tie-in started just recently and that the show isn't out yet, but DC has the infrastructure needed to pull out immense sale numbers. WB has the contract with Super RTL which is the biggest channel aimed at children in Germany. It is currently only used for Looney Tunes and Whats New Scooby Doo, but DC Superhero Girls looks like an IP which could be fairly successfull on the German market. And if DC Superhero girls gets fairly successfull on the Kraut market, it could open a floodgate and finally establish DC on the Kraut market outside of movies and the Krautmarket. The Kraut cartoon market is small but the merch market can get ridiculously big if you do it right.
