His comic was always nihilistic, but funny. Not in the way all these others are (you know the ones). Where the Humor amounts to "LOL I'M SO DEPRESSED AND SILLY" It had more of a story to it.
His webcomic ended up getting really popular, and he ended up creating a kickstarter to make a book
It ends up going way better than expected, and something cracked in him.
One day he started making posts about how he was faking being depressed and hated how his comic made people think they were depressed.
He also made a long post of other webcomic artists who were also "faking being depressed" (the list containing the likes of KC Green and Kate Beaton I think)
He also said he wanted people paying for him to live instead of paying for his comic I think (if only he waited for Pateron to be a thing) but i'm not sure if i remember that right
long story short he ended up burning all his books and sending others with bugs in them and destroyed his website to the point the wayback machine couldn't achieve it.
He did come to his senses, apologize, and send what he could normally, but didn't have enough and kept his website down.
I guess he was pretty fucked in the head and couldn't handle being popular
Oddly enough he did work on an official Birdman comic later on, but still remains gone
