>>93973400>he was just a lizard, there's a lot of thoseToffee is "THE Lizard." The only other one we know of is Rasticore, and he was apparently Toffee's right-hand man. They're clearly not a common breed of monster.
>He knew Moon for a few minutesWith how the staff kept hinting at them having some kind of tragic history, I was expecting them to at least have been familiar with each other before Toffee killed the Queen, but him just having been a monster warlord doesn't really contradict anything.
>Entire army just leaves because of a finger, and Toffee just wanders off>Battle with Moon was just one blastTheir confrontation was really anti-climactic and definitely the most disappointing part of the movie. Obviously the tapestries are dramatizations but "she just walked up slowly and fired a warning shot" was not at all what I expected.
Still, even though it sucked as an action sequence it clearly defined both Moon and Toffee's character.
>He knew magic by studying in background scenesI actually like "villain just did their fucking homework" more than "villain has an obscure, contrived connection to the hero somehow."
But I doubt he learned about the Whispering Spell from just a book; there's still questions to be answered.
>He let Moon live for literally no reasonHe had taken everything from her and made her a broken woman. He was more than satisfied to watch her heart break when he crushed the wand crystal in front of her and told her Star was gone for good. She posed absolutely no threat to him anymore.
>His endgame was his finger, and the magic thing was basically a side effect>Died walking away casuallyWith his finger, he was whole again. He lived without it for decades, being reminded of his humiliation by the Butterflys every time he saw his own hand.
Without magic, without the Queen's power, Mewmanity is helpless.
Toffee would be back to finish the job, but he had all the time in the world to let them drown in despair while he gathered the storm.
