Although it's my opinion that Centipeetle will probably be the vague leader of the legions of restored gems once Steven figures out how to un-corrupt them, and that they'll largely be doing their own thing.
The rest of the humans are kinda tangential to the overarching plot. The episodes that deal with them are fine IMO in that they flesh out the non-gem aspects of the town.
The Diamonds are all obviously the Diamonds, but the different ways Blue and Yellow deal with Pink's death makes them interesting enough.
Holly Blue Agate, Aquamarine, and Topaz are the only individual gems shown to still be working in Homeworld's interests, although it's probable that Topaz will defect at some point.
Zircon was probably shattered after that fiasco of a trial.
Lars and the Homeworld Rejects are la resistance. They're a total different and separate faction from the Crystal Gems and are probably going to have adventures of their own.
Yeah, this show has a lot of character, but not too many, in my opinion. Pretty much everyone has a dedicated role in the larger plot.
