Nope. There's one book that sort of touches on that but it's part of several stories and it focuses more on how each master-apprentice generation from Yoda/Dooku to Obi-Wan/Anakin deals with the bullshit of one guy.

Gotcha. I assume there's hardly any material on Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan? I only remember brief comments by Obi-Wan here and there, saying how they went on a ton of adventures, with Qui-Gon being very knowledgeable in many different species and cultures.

Now compare that to this (It's a 3d model ripped from one of the ROTS-based games, probably Battlefront II). The difference is pretty obvious here, but you don't really see the conning towers up close very much, it took me a while to find the shot in my previous post.

Yeah, I mentioned in the last thread that that's the reason I liked the Show's Venators more, because they ended up being more accurate to their exterior.

Also, the Imperial-Class SD's had bridge interiors like that in the OT, so I don't think that it was a time constraint that caused the inaccuracy.

It completely ignores Anakin and Yoda in the OT, and it completely ignores all the PT Jedi that were like RotJ-Luke and didn't wear robes similar to desert farmers.

I 100% blame RLM for this shit. And before anybody starts, no I am not saying RLM is to blame for prequel hate. But this shit is a perfect example of misinformation and misconception spread by RLM that is completely fucking bullshit and hypocritical, another meaningless jab at Lucas/PT.

Nah, I don't believe there is some ulterior motive at play here If you really believe that, in relation to the currect rejuvenation of interest in the prequels and the response to the new movies, they are contrarian for contrarianism's sake, then you fell in the same trap they did with the prequel reviews, ie: my view of the SW franchise is objectively correct and everyone else is just trying to bait.

I think they are honest with their views on TFA and RO, even if they may appear to be contradictory and hypocritical from our perspective. I think their first review was very badly articulated and communicated and the later arguments drowned in the white noise of memes (which, honestly, RLM brought on themselves with reducing their points to comedy skits and muddying up their clarifications in needlessly confrontational videos). Because there's a lot of people, both in the fandom and the greater film community, who share them. TFA and RO are two different movies, for two different audiences who expect two different things from their Star Wars movies. Don't let our little echo chamber fool you, there's plenty of people out there who vastly prefer TFA to RO and have valid reasons to do so.

And for the record, before you call me a shill for Abrams, RO is my second favorite SW movie and I agree with much of the common criticism you see aimed at TFA here.

The truth is simply that all of Star Wars is the same farcical shit, only with slight variation in the quality of the execution. You find what appeals to you and then you can give the Plinkett treatment to anything that runs counter to it. I don't really like ANH that much myself. I could easily tear the movie to shreds like RLM tore the PT. It wouldn't change the fact that that movie means a lot to a lot of people.

My friend told me he preferred TFA over almost every other Star Wars movie, and that Rogue One was one of the worst.

Couldn't fucking believe what I was hearing. To my knowledge he has never watched RLM shit either, so IDK.

I still maintain that from a purely in-universe argument, the PT and Rogue One hold up perfectly fine as pieces of Star Wars history, whereas TFA shit all over the canvas. If people want to argue about how TFA is "technically a better constructed film" then whatever, I don't care. I am a Star Wars fan, not a movie fan. I want good Star Wars movies, not structurally sound "well made" movies that shit on the movies I love.

I suppose the problem is RLM fall into the same pit that people like CinemaSins do, where they and offer legitimate reviews as well as jokes, which just dilutes the review AND the jokes
And I can definitely see why some people would prefer TFA over RO, TFA is a lot more fast paced and enjoyable compared to how (relatively) slow and honestly quite dark RO gets at times.
But I'd still argue that TFA's greatest problem is that, no matter how "structurally sound" it may be, it just goes way too goddamn fast and never even considers the idea of just letting the new trilogy era sit and breathe, to take a moment and just expand on what's going on in Star Wars at that point

Seriously, this could mean that you just used up too much ram, try opening task manager and seeing how much ram you have left / how much your browser is taking up.

Also Maul was already there for a while. He was trying to gain access to the Sith Superweapon with the intention of blowing up Coruscant to kill Sheev. The ongoing Maul comic explains that he knew about Malachor because Sheev took him there as a child.

The Inquisitors were hunting Maul, they called him "The Shadow".

Vader was hunting the Jedi.

We literally don't know. There's tons of clue in the episode and lore that hint about what COULD have happened. (Hint: Mortis)

But we don't know exact details. Filoni has cleared very little up beyond saying that he "doesn't usually" like metaphorical stuff (Is Ahsoka an exception?). He also says that Ahsoka can not become a Force Ghost, so that idea is ruled out.

What we DO know, is that Vader walking away like that, means Anakin is convinced that he has murdered Ahsoka.

I'm personally thinking, based on the clues in the episode and BTS stuff that; Vader did kill Ahsoka, but a Celestial being has reincarnated Ahsoka in some way so that she may continue to be a guardian for innocent people against Vader, so that other people wont share her fate. But I'm seriously concerned about what are they going to do with him and Kanan. Supposedly there should be no other known Jedi left by the time of A New Hope, and in Rogue One Bail decides to go after Kenobi as kind of their last resort.

Maybe the two will be elsewhere occupied/trapped throughout the entirety RO and ANH. Or they can really kill off Kanan, and Ezra will feel terrible and leave the Rebellion, mirroring Ahsoka's arc in TCW.

Was there ever any explanation as to why they changed ezra's hair? Likes all those elements of his head were designed together and removing just one of them puts the design off balance and he just looks off. The artsyle and the fact that the hair is slicked back doesnt help as it makes his whole head look too smooth. As for Luke sort of losing that duel, that comic is set maybe a few months after ANH, maybe. Luke knows basically nothing about the Force, his lightsaber or even his own heritage. Getting beat down by a guy who's clearly been trained in how to use a lightsaber makes a lot more sense than Luke pulling some lightsaber skills out of his ass

I think it's just that Hera and Kanan have been together for so long now that they're kind of like an old married couple who don't get physical anymore. Filoni said that is why the Inquisitors are being killed off by ANH. Tarkin met and tortured Kanan, so unless he goes into hiding after faking his death, Kanan is getting axed.

They remind me a lot of Fordo's squad in the Legends Clone Wars series, how they were "tacticool", and some had unique armor and weapons like that bulky one with the huge quad cannons.

Anyways, I don't love these Stormtroopers, but there's nothing really wrong with them.

I just realised it's simply because the two shows use different art styles. The edges in TCW are more defined and exaggerated, but are smoother in Rebels. So it looks like the lines on her face are deeper in TCW.

Personally, I don't think that the sun visor (Is there actually an official name for that thing) is something that's really limited to commanders, despite generally being representative of one's status as a commander, as we do see the Coruscant riot troopers using them in TCW.

Either way, I hope we get to have them for both phase I and II armor, because it's my favourite part of the clone armor.

Basically old Thrawn was a true believer in, if not the Empire, at least the fundamental idea of enforcing order on the galaxy at the expense of freedom. He was ideologically tied up with the Empire
New Thrawn though, his 'exile' from his people (the Chiss Ascendancy) was actually an entirely manufactured event that was the first part of a plan to embed Thrawn into the Empire and assess if it might pose a future threat to the Ascendancy, and whether or not the Empire might be allies against some threat supposedly lurking in the Unknown Regions past even Chiss space
So Thrawn now has the option to simply pull out of his mission and return home. He's only bound to the Empire by his word, and he's already lied to the Emperor about the exact reasons behind his exile

Bruh the DLT-19 was literally just an MG34 with the feed mechanism blocked out. And the E11 was literally a fully-functioning Sterling L2A3 with a few bits on it. This is a full makeover compared to those two. The only real-life part of this one is the grip and trigger. Pic related.

I think that started out as a sig.

I also think that with some small modifications that design could be built into a completely functioning firearm.

the top section would have to be lowered to be more in line with the actual barrel, but that's really about it. Maybe fill in the middle cut out section so as to ensure a functional barrel is actually employed. on the plus side the barrel on the end could act as a really nice compensator if cut properly.

Making Boba a whiny little kid in AOTC is the worst thing that could possibly have been done to the character.

What was with Lucas' insistence on whiny kids in the prequels? We had Anakin in TPM, Boba in AOTC, and in ROTS those younglings instantly give off such a little shit vibe that you're almost relieved when they cut away immediately after Anakin's saber comes on.

I think you just intensely dislike children in general on the belief that they'll never grow out of childish petulance when all it takes is time and a firm upbringing.

The younglings were not whiny at all. Their home was under siege and they were in very, very real danger of fucking dying. Jedi as they were it was amazing to see them not cowering or crying to themselves as Anakin walked in on them. Had Lucas gone the whole nine yards and shown them being slaughtered one by one I don't think I'd have been able to finish that movie. Not even to speak of the obvious R-rating that would accompany such a massacre. It's already hard enough to see the kid in front step back in scared confusion.

We don't see many Padawan's period.

Who else is there? Ahsoka, who was never knighted? Even when Mace was like "dis be your trial yo", Anakin was still offering her back the Padawan braid, she wasn't going to be knighted.

If you think Padawans are supposed to be knighted earlier, that's a misconception on your end. Anakin is literally the youngest Jedi Knight we have ever seen transition from a Padawan, and it should be obvious as to why.

That's not why they have the accents you dingaling, they have the accents because A) Lucas loved attaching accents to aliens to make them more vibrant and exotic (Just look at the Toydarians, Nemoidians, Gungans, ect), and B) because the story he came up with for Ryloth is heavily inspired by the french revolution.

Obi was the only padawan that we know to get knighted under more or less normal circumstances, thus we can safely assume it's normal to be a padawan at 25, because we don't know any better. Anakin was knighted at 19 because he's the Chosen One, a prodigy, and because the Jedi were at war and needed more knights faster. Kanan was knighted at fucking 30, but the circumsatnces are completely different. Who else do we know when they were knighted?

Twi'leks have french accents because that's how Lucas made them be in canon. It's now established to be a norm for their species and not some one-off thing.
Even Hera speaks with a french accent when she's arguing with her father, although most of the time she doesn't have an accent.

Perhaps it's a genetic thing that's not as easily eradicated as it is with individuals within the same species, and she learned to speak early, before she got taken by the Jedi. Or maybe the Jedi used to have an outpost on Ryloth and she spent most of her Jedi training there. Her backstory in canon is a blank slate so we can come up with pretty much any explanation.

There should have been plenty of them, considering the Jedi were fighting a war, so everyone who could should have taken on a padawan so that they can have more knights sooner. Did Plo Kun have a padawan? Or Aayla? Or Kit Fisto? Or Mace? No, they just dumped one on Anakin, the least qualified person to have one.

Also Depa Bilabba had Caleb Dume/Kanan Jarrus. It's likely most of them indeed did have Padawans at particular times, we just never really saw them because their own development wasn't as crucial to the main story at hand, though I'd have liked to see other Jedi as opposed to Obi-Wan, Anakin, Ahsoka and select members of the Council.

Wait, so not every Jedi Master is a member of the Jedi High Council? Because there appears to be way more Jedi Masters than there are seats on the Council. The Wook lists a lot of the Jedi we know as Masters, despite many of them not appearing often (e.g. Tiplar and Tiplee).

Yeah, not on the High Council at least. It's apparently still canon that there were other Councils for particular functions, but even then you can only put so many Jedi in any one upper management group. Of course there are going to be Masters who have not been on the Council or choose not to. You don't have to be on the Council to be a Master. But you need to be a Master to be considered for the Council.

It's honestly hard to say when the Council and Order as a whole lost their relative autonomy in respect to the Republic. I just rewatched the Children of the Force arc in Season 2 of TCW and Anakin posits something that ends up making a fine point:

Or something to that degree. The Jedi Order had become a military institution upon taking reign of the Grand Army of the Republic, and as such were under much greater purview of the Chancellor and Senate. There were many mentions of certain matters being internal Jedi affairs, but they would always be quickly struck down by someone mentioning the mixing of Jedi and Clones as Republic personnel or pf the Jedi leading the army making them effectively responsible and representative of the Republic and all its interests. That and the Council would constantly butt heads with particular Senate procedure only to be reminded that despite their powers, that even the state was above the Jedi Order.

Palpatine's term was a 13 year stress test to see how wound up in bureaucracy he could get the Jedi Order in and he succeeded almost too well. Even the Jedi, just like Supreme Chancellor Valorum before them, can fall to politics.

Ezra's whole speech in the beginning of Zero Hour shows that contrary to watchers expectations, he's not all about being a Jedi anymore: he's more thankful for Kanan and Co teaching how to be a good person.

He still has a ways to go to be "one with the force" person. Ezra will survive into the OT.

I think Lucas mentioned that Obi-Wan wasn't actually that strong or that great of a prodigy. Even in the EU a lot of material suggests that most of the time he's a middling at best jedi who relies on experience, his allies, and good judgement more than any inherent skills unique to jedi. Kanan was in the same boat as a kid and Ahsoka may have been decent but she wasn't super special.

Contrast that to Luke and Anakin, who were super prodigies. Even Ezra was much stronger than the average and also a prodigy in his own right. Even beyond those three more or less as soon as the empire began, or even the clone wars, you got other such prodigies being born. Hedala Fardi is probably a good NuCanon example since by the time she was four or five she could make impossible shots during ballgames and move things with her mind after seeing Ahsoka do it once. She was also able to outsmart one of the lower ranking inquisitors and the circumstances of her birth basically implied that by the time the rebellion was around she'd have turned into a badass pilot against the empire.

I think a lot of people are wrapped up in the idea of there being one prophecy tied to only Luke and Anakin's destinies. But Leia was born essentially as a backup. You could imply that someone like Ezra who was born within a couple of days of that was another backup via will of the force, and so on and so forth down the line. It's really the only think I can think of for how a statistically impossible number of strong in the force people seem to be showing up during the rebellion era.

Didn't Mace and a couple of other Jedi Council members kick up a huge fuss when Quigon tried to take him on as a conventional Padawan rather than some farmer for a Jedi enclave somewhere?

Additionally, Obi Wan is damn resourceful, but he's not actually that strong. His main strengths are his strategies, his allies and the creation of his unique variation on the Soresu stance which makes it not shit.

However, he is a hard worker, and he does eventually become a Knight conventionally. I do also feel Qui Gon held him back just to make sure he was ready, see the back and forth debate constantly.

Anakin was a prodigy, and one who had to butt a whole lot of heads just to join the order. Hell, Mace would probably stick him on some enclave given the chance.

Maybe I just have too much autism, but did it bug anyone else to hear Snoke actually say things like "Han Solo" and "Millennium Falcon," common proper names and such? I think it's an area where he falls behind Sheev. Sheev never actually gave enough of a shit about any of his enemies to identify them by their proper names, at least in ROTJ. It made him seem more powerful and foreboding.

all i remember was being mad at both of the kids for still hating each other even though they both know neither of them was the reason behind the sabotage
like from a writer's standpoint, why resolve the drama of a scene if that scene will continue to provide drama anyway?

Honestly, I hear him slipping slightly into Gollum in some scenes. When he tries to force himself to do a low voice, it starts slipping into this guttural, almost slurping sound, which was basically what he did for Gollum at a higher pitch.

She could be someone like Grievous in a way. Let's say she was a renounced, disgraced bastard child. Sheev exiled her and her mother to the Unknown Regions expedition to get them off his sight in the Imperial Court. She also had a serious medical condition, leaving her crippled. This build up a strong sense of resentment and injustice in her and a monumental desire to prove her worth. She has nothing but disdain for her genetic father's corrupt Empire and sees it as a personal calling to build a new, ideologically pure and strong one, as it should have been.

Later Phasma signs up for a new experimental Death Trooper project, as it's the only chance to restore her body. She is healed and augmented to peak human levels, but it also leaves her horribly disfigured and riddled with gruesome cybernetics. Due to all that and too her scandalous ties to Palpatine who Sloane would rather see covered up, she is still nonetheless sidelined to a top secret branch of FO military by the old guard. Eventually the tension between the entitled new generation represented by Armie Hux and Phasma and the old technocracy reaches a boiling point. Snoke, who has been a sort of a religious figure that attached himself to the FO, launches a coup and Hux and Phasma, who fell for his cult of personality assure his rise as the Supreme Leader, while also propelling themselves to the top of FO's brass.

I think all you really need to know at that point is that both Ciena and Thane are excelling at what they do. They still like each other deep down, but life choices and jealous Imperials have pulled them apart. That's basically the end of the first arc of the story, things start to pick up pace and take a new direction soon.

Don't get me wrong, I like KOTOR 2, and there's a lot of ease of life improvements to it (Pazaak no longer making you go first all the time, all skills are useful, you start off as your chosen class), but there's definitely a lot that could have been fixed.
