This would kill the already competitive scene the game has. A proper fighting game need a good 3 years of people playing it before people can get good enough at it to make a good competitive scene.

I expected too much. Shame I got gifted the game and don't have online. Multiverse quickly loses its charm when you finally get gear you want for your main and see no point in just grinding characters up.

Aspects from some could be, depending on which story mode ending is canon. If you take away who actually kills Brainiac from the arcade endings, they mostly work as epilogues for the characters.
Notable exceptions being the members of the Society, Swamp Thing, Damian, Dr Fate. Theirs definitely don't work.

That anon is being selective. Even with his code, Cold gets in trouble plenty of times. Nobody really likes him in his line of work. There is some respect amongst his Rogues, but other villains look down upon him and mock him. He encouraged his sister to follow him into his "line of work" which got her killed, etc. Also, Flash would haul Cold right off to prison if he killed someone. I'm pretty sure Leaguers have killed, by the way. Wonder Woman and Maxwell Lord comes to mind. Aquaman has a few times as well.

Finally, that "nothing personal" attitude is BS. He literally only kills if it's personal. The game even explicitly states that.

It's a pasta that is really overused at this point. Tons of anons have disproved it and have even shown many other DC characters that fit all those complaints, yet still get praise. DO NOT LEVEL HIM. The problem will weirdly fix itself like the next day. When it does, the total progress happens. This can lead to you "missing" milestone levels. I never got any of the level ten rewards for my Batman.

Bad writting. Even NRS realized it, since no one mentions that in this game. They want you to forget it. Killing Shazam and destroying Metropolis and Gotham were suppose to be Supermans moral event horizon in the first game. But it is pretty clear they wanted to change the direction of his character in I2, so they try to downplay the stupid evil stuff he did.

Well, in the comic, Alfred was killed by Zsasz, who was sent by Superman, in year 5. But in I2 we saw Zsasz get killed by Damian in year 1, so that obviously couldn't have happened. In the intros, Batman only accuses Superman of killing Green Arrow and Shazam. You would think he would mention Alfreds death, if he references the two of them. Alfred is kind of in limbo right now. He is not present in the games, but I don't think him dying is ever mentioned.

Presumably, yes. Their fate is left uncertain, but there are plenty of places to stick super-powered villains in the Injustice-verse. My headcanon says that some of them in the underground prison that we saw in the Plastic Man Annual.

Nothing new. There are plenty of characters (mostly villains) like that from the story mode of the first game.

Yes. When the first game came out, we were only about halfway through Year 1. It was also obvious in Year 5 that they were wrapping up the story and revisiting characters to keep them relevant enough for their involvement in the IGAU. The Injustice 2 continuity seems to be following a similar pattern as there are only a handful of issues released prior to the game's release.
