If Ashi's romance was going to be a thing, one episode or two at most should have been enough, it was rushed anyways.
Episode 8 should have been Guardian appearing again, after having hidden/teleported/timetravelled the portal itself, fights Jack, When he's lost Aku appears, short fight, Aku kills guardian and says something emotive, Aku destroys portal, Jack struggles to maintain his emotional balance and a battle with Aku is promised in the next episode.
Episode 9, Everyone appears, they fight Aku, Aku takes control of Ashi, Jack has to kill both, Ashi regains consciousness and uses Aku's power inside her to create a portal, Jack stares at his friends and jumps into the portal, He arrives the exact moment when he was sent into the future and the final blow is struck. Closeup of his eyes, "At last, my quest has come to an end." WACHA!!
Episode 10 is an epilogue. Kino last samurai music plays the entire episode. Opening: Jack is narrating: LONG AGO IN A DISTANT PAST. Jack frees the emperor, rebuilding scenes, there's a big ceremony to receive the empress who's returned to the kingdom. Jack is walking some gardens and meets his long lost childhood love, they look at each other in a kino way and there's a marriage scene. After some time, the emperor is dying and Jack is struck with sadness again, he decides to make a journey to find truth or whatever, he goes to places that would be landmarks of the future and remembers the people he helped, he returns to the empire and is crowned as the new Emperor. Bearded and crowned, he makes the journey to the mountain he climbed and returns the sword to the gods now that it's not needed anymore, he leaves it on the ground and walks away, turns back and the sword is gone, he closes his eyes in respite.
Timeskip and it's Jack telling this tale to his grandchildren, as soon as he's finished, he remembers the future again, has a vision of his friends and finally closes his eyes.
