>>92565695No one really calls themselves an sjw (no one with a shred of sense), in fact most people who're called that take offense to it, because you're lumping together a lot of people who legitimately might not agree and might not even want to be anywhere near each other. People who think maybe people with darker skin probably shouldn't be treated like literal degenerates and people who think it's cool to fuck babies both sometimes fall under that umbrella term and I can sure as fuck guarantee you they don't like to be lumped in together.
Also, sitting down and talking isn't exactly a good idea for mitigation in a situation involving sexual misconduct. Asking someone who's been put in the situation Emily was to sit down and then talk to her assaulter "like an adult to find a solution to the problem" is a pretty morally disgusting suggestion, isn't it? One of them sexually violated the other and then was committed, unable to do anything but talk like a cowboy and answer questions with riddles. I doubt he would've even been able to have this conversation you're hoping for, honestly.
And as for your mitigating factor comment, thinking that he deserves to be fired for sexually violating, even when he isn't mentally disabled goes against your prior beliefs expressed, doesn't it? Doesn't that just mean you yourself are agreeing with the "PC Brigade" that "has existed for a long time" as you put it? You're agreeing with them and agreeing that the systems they put into practice are correct, are you not?
Sitting them down to talk it over and find a solution to the problem would've done nothing but upset the one who was violated and make her massively uncomfortable in her place of work. Also, the solution would have been firing him either way, there would have literally been no other option for Page. I'm sure CN has a very strict policy on top of all this, being a children's network. If you commit a sex crime, you're fired immediately. What other solution could exist?
