Every episode he's in, I want him to just miraculously start being a better person, like outright confess his feelings to Sadie or something, but he stays in character instead and continues being a douche. But then continues to make little baby steps, like deciding to bring the cake to the party. And it's much more satisfying to see his slow growth. I really wanted to see him at least try to rescue Sadie, but when he chickened out instead, I thought "yeah, that makes sense" and I'm happy he got karma for it by being blasted to Homeworld and I'll hopefully get to see him regret the fuck out of his decision.
But, honestly, even after all that, I would more importantly rather see gem lore than townie shit. Like I'm gonna be real disappointed if/when there's a whole damn episode exploring Lars's feelings instead of exploring Homeworld culture when Homeworld is right the fuck there in the background.
