>>91926054>You have to be autistically to don't see that people shouldn't be treated this way.Okay so let's preface this wih saying that violence is bad and I am not jusifying but explaining it in this case.
Imagine that you are a girl. A small, tiny girl, whom boys don't want to play with, because girls have cooties.
All the time, you get bombarded with stereotypes: girls are weak, girls are worse at everything than boys are, girls can't fight for shit.
'You hit like a girl!' is an insult, meaning, your punches are weak, it does not even hurt, i can barely feel it.
Now imagine that you have a friend who not only provokes you all the time by teasing, insulting, fighting you, challenging you to compete in sports just to show how weak you are, -
not only that, but when you punch that friend in annoyance, he does not even let you know you hurt him. He meets your blows with a smile, in another proof that he does not feel a thing.
Besides, they always say that when a boypulls your pigtails, it means he likes you. It shoudl go the other way, right?
It is not hard at all to not realize that you are hurting them. It is very easy to take it too far.
They are both stupid kids, and both victims of these stupid stereotypes. Mike, because he got the shit beaten out of him for all his childhood. Lucy, because she ended up making someone she loved hate her, and was driven to a suicide attempt by the realization of her own shittiness.
