I am 25 Fucking years old and in love with Star vs the Forces of Evil.

I desperately want to talk about the show with my friends but know I will get made fun of to hell and back.

Anyone else love cartoons but sometimes worry about the social ramifications.

I usually do not give a fuck but lots of people do not realize how organic and realistic the relationships are in Star and the amazing building of the story mixed in with wonderful lore. They just it as some "LOL RANDOM KIDS CARTOON WITH GIRLY FEMALE LEAD"

Also, who else thinks Star is MUCH better then Gravity Falls?

I loved that show but was so disappointed they dodnt do more with the characters during the last few episodes.

Holding star is going to go out on a better note then Gravity Falls.

Its not just friends it's people in general.

You can't really just go around trying to have deep discussions of a Disney cartoon with randoms. Most people don't even know it exists

Also they think it's a girly show with Star as the lead but don't realize the show is honestly more mature then Gravity Falls at times.

I actually hate alot of the modern cartoons, but like Sv for the most part. I don't watch it because the voice acting can be mostly good at best, but is utter shit a good amount of the time.

Well star isn't the only good modern cartoon

Of we are not speaking about cartoons on adult swim my favorite modern day one is Loud House but it's hard to find decent cartoons. This isn't the 90s or 00s so animation seems to take less skill or just is mind numbingly dumb.

I'm 28 OP and I'm also in love with her. I have a gf right now but damn it Star is just too perfect. I know she's just a cartoon character though, but it hurts me every day knowing I'll never have a gf as cool and cute as she is. All I can do is self insert as Marco and ship Starco.

Anime is more watchable to you because you don't speak Japanese and you can insert your own interpretation into the scenes. This is why waifu fags exist and can't be reasoned with.
I'm not trying to tell you you're wrong, just that you're right because of limitation, not objective criticism.
If anyone cares, I just started Star and am continuing largely because so little is watchable.

I do think a lot of the first season was kind of shaky but i don't think either the humor or the plots were ever random

The names of the spells could be considered such but those are consistent across the show and not really jokes. The actual jokes, whether they hit or not, tended to come from the established situation/characters

The plots in the early first season are the most straightforward thing ever, mostly because many were indeed standard cartoon plots.

Because it's highly acclaimed for exactly the reasons I mentioned and one of the most entry level anime sort of flavor of the month seasonal shit and big name dubbed series. And despite that the majority of normalfags will dismiss it because of the content. Plenty of other anime are treated the same way, it's just the one I choose to use as an example.

The first two of those are blatant kids' shows, even if they have some decent moments for older fans. Megas XLR, like Samurai Jack, is a bit of an exception, though it's still viewed as for kids.
