>Pretty ladybug!Scotsman and his kin, the Shaolin, Lizard and Woolie monks were born and bred into opposing evil and doing good.
The Guardian is similar but he's more just protecting a resource against evil.
Da Sah Moo Rye was misguided and arrogant but still somewhat noble enough to show humility when he recognized he wasn't even a pale image compared to a real Samurai and was heroic enough to throw Jack out of the way and himself into harms way when the bots attacked.
There are those like Exdor who did not know better but tried to be better when the time came.
From there you have people who are aware of what Aku is and were neutral towards Jack but proved at least not to be allies of evil like the Thief, X-49, Princess Mira, the Tri-seraquins and Imakandi who do as they do because it is their way of life. Similar to the Scotsman I guess, but less commendable. You can still at least see some kind of code to them and respect it though since they're not just brainwashed children and will go out their way to choose to put the hero before themselves if they can.
So as you can see a lot of ground has already been trekked with Jack's rivals and companions and I just feel Ashi isn't quite up to snuff. Her backstory is certainly as tragic as anyone else living under Aku's thumb, plus more due to the psychosis of her mother and caretakers but on she on her own isn't really that compelling. She's just foolish and fickle.
