Despite this, Gender still factors in Sex, so tumblr misuses the word and thinks it being a "construct" means it can be whatever they want it to be. It's a social construct in that society as a whole - not idiots on tumblr and twitter - have come to the conclusion. The term is used anthropologically. India for example, places on an emphasis on hermaphrodites by believing them to be their own gender, and the gender of a "ladyboy" and it's social connotations is different in Thailand.
Retards on the internet have basically made the term lose all meaning, but it's original intention is to look at Sex and societal roles associated with it through various cultures. No matter how much tumblr wants to think one thing or another, Gender does factor in biological truths like Sex. Just like Race factors in biological truths like Ethnicity.
It is not foo-foo made up bullshit that can just be changed because a couple of people on tumblr want it to. Society as a whole decides this.
