>>90955858If you were building up from the first universe, each successive universe might seem as though it was on top of that. This would also fit with "first firmament" - what everything else is built on.
That actually fits with the lingering elements of universe-7 we've seen bleeding into universe-8, the fact iso-* changes with each new universe, and even the role of Galactus as a devourer/lifebringer who inherits the new universe from the last. I mean, has galactus always gone wrong? Or has Galactus in preceding universes worked the right way? Either way, some things are being constructed in new ways with each successive universe.
That's also interesting to think about with Miss America and Simon Rodstvow and the utopian and dystopian parallels. The powers of each functions in a similar way, indicated by the star shapes. Rodstvow (before he shed his "skin" anyway) talks about the utopian parallel and posited the existence of a dystopian parallel that could even be a single individual. What if the current universe is part of progress from a dystopian to a utopian parallel? If you were to imagine all the successive universes stacked on top of each other as flat lines, wouldn't that bring in multiple meanings of parallel *and* fit with the first firmament title? We know Mac can move outside of the boundaries of the normal universe even though it hurts her immensely, because she did it when they rescued Anti-Man. What if that's how the first firmament got to Rodstvow in the first place?
I am not sure that Thanos will necessarily be on-side with the First Firmament. I don't know. Maybe that is what he encountered when he was briefly outside of the universe and saw eternity in chains. But it seemed to me more like he was oblivion, even greater than death, and maybe he'll oppose both groups.
