Horses/dogs raised to be eaten? Go ahead, but don't expect Americans to accept that because to them, they're companions/workers first, meat a distant second.
Cats are also somewhere on that list of friends/workers, but it's not helped that they are strict carnivores, don't get very big compared to other food animals, are very agile/fast/clever compared to other animals, have facial structure similar to human babies that foster cuteness, are more useful as pest control, have built in weapons to a greater degree than dogs or pigs, and generally are closer in ecology to vermin than most food animals, who are either grazers or walking trash disposals.
