He's portrayed as somebody who had a monpoly of various markets for a long time because his products WERE the best, and has harder time to accept new ideas and ways to sell products until somebody(Rockerduck, Brigitta or Donald) forces him to reevaluate.
This usually ends up with either him surpassing the competition by being better than them at their own game, or failing because he fell in old bad habits and did jew some part of the product development- or as karmic retribution for treating badly the person who made the product successful(usually Donald).
Tl;dr: italian Scrooge has a number of bad habits, and sometimes he fall back into them.

I don't think I've ever read him being actually ANGRY even once.
