>>90391618>Star has come no where close to the Mirror Gem Ocean Gem or The Return and JailbreakSUfags, everyone
>they simply don't put as much effort into the set up and the revealThis is frankly a stupid criticism because it only tackles one aspect of the show's delivery, not its entirety/majority. Even if I were to explain why you're wrong, it wouldn't do jack shit to suddenly justify why the writing in Star vs. as a whole is good. Because as far as anyone else is concerned, we only managed to establish whether or not its twists are genuinely surprising, instead of genuinely well presented.
That's the biggest problem with Steven Universe compared to Star vs. When it comes to the core issue of things, Star vs. at worst just struggles to keep a consistent quality but at least knows what it wants to do and achieves it without some baffling schizophrenia. Steven Universe tries to tell story whose being just keeps hurting itself, and hardly ever properly acknowledges its use of time format, pacing, strengths or weaknesses for either the SOL or main plot well enough to stick the landing ever, which is what sets it back from being truly "good" compared to Star.
