I think it's partly supposed to read as a preteen being a little observant, mostly naive and extremely arrogant, but Gumball is right (or at least not directly contradicted) about a lot of those comments. And the show's overall perspective runs a bit conservative -- consider the constant savaging of leftie caricature Mr. Small.
Gumball isn't a good role model as a political thinker, since he is still supposed to be quite naive, but as it stands in seasons 4 and 5 his personal views skew more toward /pol/ than tumblr, without really getting close to either one.
