While obviously Tim isn't dead yet; I am actually confident that he will be dead by the end of the Rebirth thing.

At the moment he doesn't really have a place in the Bat-family, and I don't know how someone could write him to have a place either unless his back was broken and he was made the new Oracle or something?

And I personally think they should bring back Oracle, just not have it as Babs because of Batgirl having her own book now and what not. I'd actually make her a supporting character for Cyborg personally, and have her be born without the use of her legs.

The thing is Tim was needed at a time when there was two robins and only as a foil to batman. The fact is he did better with young justice and teen titans then he did as a bat family member. Even as Red Robin on his own doing his own thing like the Red Hood. He really has no place in that family and I think I appreciate him more as his own thing rather then as a Robin. He actually really has no place there.

To be fair Tim wasn't really fixed at all by Rebirth. Rebirth retconned the real Teen Titans back into continuity, gave us the old-school Superman, and has put out hints to the Legion and the real JSA (finally).

Tim and the Young Justice generation still have Lobdell's origins.
The current 'Tec run is building on Steph that was happening in the Batman Eternal books years prior. Oh I fucking hated that the most because it took away actual character development from him. He was a fucking nervous wreck who didn't believe in himself and hallucinated both Dick and Jason in order to go out for the first time not some amazing broke bullshit character. it was after he got training from shiva and batman that he got better and I liked that progression. Him being a confident gymnast who brought problems upon his own family on purpose and, while awkward with girls, still has charm makes him real upsetting to even look at.

Either way, that's just Tom King picking and choosing thing from canon without giving any fuck.

Like take the "Rooftops" arc. You've Selina being aware of Batman's secret identity without an explanation and her remembering their first meeting during Frank Miller's Year One legendary arc. You'd think that all the pre-Nu52 stuff was made canon again, right? I've seen a lot of people praise King about making the pre-Nu52 past canon again. But that's not true, because if he had done so Batman would definitely be aware of who Holly is and what she means for Selina.

I was talking about how the anons were cheering about Tom King making the pre-Nu52 past canon again. Yes, Batman didn't interact with Holly a lot in Year One, but Selina also didn't learn Batman's secret ID in Year One either. So how did Selina learn who Batman is under the mask? It's never shown or explained. People just took for granted because he referenced Year One.

That's why i'm saying King pick and choose what he wants from past canon without much thought.

I'm aware of that. That's precisely my point. They got over their trust-issues in Loeb's Batman run, Batman interacted with Selina and Holly in Brubaker's Catwoman run and so on.

BUT NONE OF THAT MATTERS because Tom King's picking and choosing what he wants from canon without giving a fuck. If Loeb's run and Brubaker's run was canon again, not only Selina would know who Batman is, but Bruce would also know who Holly is. But that last part would fuck with King's twist, even if Year One was referenced and Selina is aware of who Batman is, all without any explanation.

Where was it said it was canon? You're making a leap to justify Selina knowing who Batman is without explanation. You're filling the gaps. There's no reference to Hush. Nothing. You just think it is because that's the earliest story you can think of where she learned his identity.

It is sort of absurd there's no Robins book. It's one of the best teams in comics and a goldmine of ideas and possibilities. Detective's doing the team thing which is pretty good, but still, these dudes as brothers, orphans, vigilantes, ripe for greatness.
