So? The word "filler" has polluted the criticism of western cartoons in a really negative way, to the point that some people actually act like if an episode isn't integral to the main plot, then there's something wrong, and it's just there to fill time. That "filler" is a meaningful criticism. It's not. Anime adaptations of manga have "filler" to pad time and give the manga writer a chance to keep writing source material. In episodic cartoons, it's the overarching plots that are generally the exception, and should be treated as such.
