See, the thing about all this Tumblr representation shit is it actually IS important to girls. We all know black dudes and other minority dudes don't give a shit about representation and mostly don't even notice what race the characters are. But girls are unbelievably self-conscious, they're in a constant state of insecurity, which is why they worry so much about representation and "unrealistic" depictions of women.
I don't mean this to generalize all women, but from what I've seen in my life, the majority of women are very sensitive to this kind of thing.
