>>88876667Yeah. There will always be a different experience between serial and archive, and both have their high and low points. I think at the core, it's more about how the comic is presented. Something like homestuck was entertaining to follow serially all the time, because updates were dense, frequent, and unpredictable in timing and nature. Gunnerkrigg pages are like that of a traditional comic, and while each page is interesting it is not something that has a particular benefit from the format it uses (webcomic), though it certainly wouldn't have survived otherwise.
I think it'd be really cool if he updated with the same amount of pages, but only once a week. People probably wouldn't mind after a bit and every update would be substantive, with more pages. But it also seems to work fine as it is so whatevs. I'm probably going to follow serially until this chapter is over then reread it all in 2019 or so
