But the best gender swaps, are only when you swap just part of the characters.

For example, swaping just the water and fire sinblings on Avatar might have been fun and interesting. Whole cast swap gets a little weird, in my opinion.

Hear me out.

Basically by giving Lady Dagwood a bunch of traditionally male comedy cliches (huge appetite, neighbor borrowing lawn equipment, etc) and giving Man Blondie a traditional female role (doting spouse, loves shopping for clothes, etc) you flip the whole narrative on its head. Instead of being full of tired cliche it's a strange 21st century "traditional roles are dead and maybe the world can be any shape we choose" story.

Also Mr Dithers becomes a sassy woman. So there's that.

They could use it as a shield all the way up to the ending.
I imagine it'd be the complete opposite of how people bitched in the end. All the fujos would be in deep denial that Korro was in a straight relationship when he ran off with Asami. Though they'd probably be wary when Bolin ended up going straight after failing to fuck Korro the first time around.
