You know how we've been getting "cinematic universes" for superheroes? There's the MCU, the DCEU, and whatever Fox has with the X-Men. And in turn there are versions of the characters we love in those universes. There's the movie version of Superman, of Storm, of Iron Man, etc..
I think it's different for Deadpool because of his fourth wall breaking. Deadpool knows he's fictional. He realizes that his actions are just the product of decisions the writers make.
So, here's my idea: there are no "versions" of Deadpool. Since Deadpool has metafictional awareness, he transcends "universes." Every depiction of him is the same entity. There's no comics Deadpool and movie Deadpool and cartoon Deadpool. It's the same fictional being, crossing media because he knows he can.
It's like how Unicron is a multiversal singularity. Deadpool is too.
