She came into the school nerd room at the beginning of the semester. I walked in, and she's just stretching, like an acrobatic and laughing. When she straightens up and looks at me funny. I didn't think anything of it. Later, at night, I'm walking back to my car, near the dorms, when I bump into her. I smile and greet her but she darted away. The next week, I'm playing mario party with her and two other during time off. I say I'm pretty lucky after a sting of victories, then lose two stars. I say it again, mocking myself, and she says I'll never get lucky. I was taken back, but laughed it off. At the end of the day she asks if anyone has a car she could hop in, and I offer. She says she'd never get in a car with me with this nasty undertone. I kinda just accepted it and left, kinda shocked that happened.
A week later from that, I see her talking to some people I know and she's crying, and they have their hands on her shoulders comforting her. I am bit autistic but I do have perception, so I don't make it my business, but then as I turn, I hear her gasp and give a little shout behind me.
After that I decided to just avoid her, but I overheard her talking to one of those guys about some personal stuff outside in the hallway, the rape that happened at 5 and the boyfriends. I was feeling like shit, but I didn't know how to approach it, so i just acted like nothing new happened for the next month or so. Since then, she's been hugging literally everyone that comes into the room, wears a onesie, accepts rides from strangers and pigiebacks on people she doesn't know, and asks people going to lunch to be their friend. A literal Star Butterfly if I ever saw one.
