>>88292459>Chris Claremont's X-Men stories include a diverse cast of characters and some thought-provoking social commentary, but this isn't something that marvel has always had, nor is it an agenda being pushed. If thought provoking social commentary is being pushed, then there is an agenda at hand being push. You won't meet a writer without an agenda. Human's in general tend to write from a bias stand point.
Even still, my point stands that if you had an issue now, you should also have one with the past. Maybe that specific run didn't do it as much, but down the line politics were injected into almost every story.
>Replacing the famous and popular marvel heroes who are white males with non-white or female versions of the same character is an agenda. But who is being replaced? Thor is still around, however Thor doesn't have the Ragnarok. Captain America is still around. So is Ironman and Spider-man. The only one who isn't is Hulk.
>Filling a team book with a multinational cast is not. That is a clear agenda. Because once again, they were doing it for the sake of diversity. Before they did that run of the X-men, they mapped it out. Here's a list of thing we have to do, because we want to show our support or generally show acceptance.
Maybe it's an agenda that doesn't upset you, but it's an agenda nonetheless.
