Frozen's been selling exceptionally well for years. I got my sources from
http://www.insidermonkey.com/blog/11-movies-that-sold-the-most-merchandise-405780/?singlepage=1>5. Frozen>The movie was only shown in 2013 with only a single movie in the franchise. What Frozen has accomplished in the span of two years is remarkable as it has already raked in as much as $5.3 billion in merchandise sales, beating other brands that have been in the industry for decades. (above it are 4. Harry Potter franchise with $7 billion of merch sales, 3. Toy Story franchise with $9 billion, 2. Cars with 10 bln and 1. Star Wars which has accumulated $32 billion merch sales since 1977. Beneath were Such as Batman, Spider-Man, Transformers, Minions, TMNT, Avengers)
I've seen the 5.3 bn for Frozen remarked on elsewhere, too. Also if you read wikipedia's Frozen (franchise) page's merchandise section, it's clear the movie just sold staggeringly, unbelievably well; it was a phenomenon and a juggernaut.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frozen_%28franchise%29#MerchandiseAnyhow, Frozen is a moneymaking machine for Disney. They're not going to let it go.
