Matt and Woolie, Woolie especially, don't actually know much about Dark Souls so they were almost constantly off topic. Also they were clearly not playing blind and lied about it. At one point Woolie was reading straight out of a guide book.
Pat grinded the first Black Knight he could find for like, 6 hours to get his armor and from that point was always be 30 levels over the recommended amount for every area except the Nameless King. Which ended up just being really sad in my opinion.
And 3, a lot Dark Souls fans are elitist fucks that want everyone to play their way. Combined with the already "snarky" (read: annoying) TBF fanbase, they just literally refused to be pleased. They even freaked out when Pat couldn't remember every minute detail about the lore. Personally I think they should've had Plague on the horn instead of Woolie, but they were committed to their gimmick.
