No idea. But another thing to consider is if they'll keep the hairstyle the same. Season 1 and two were basically the same thing, just different colors. Season 2 was completely different. They could change it entirely next season.

I personally believe that none of the movies represent what "truly feels" Star Wars.

The reason Star Wars is fantastic is because it is an entire Galaxy of stories and characters. Westerns, Fantasies, Horrors, Tragedies, everything can be Star Wars. That's why TCW was so well-received. One episode is a Clone-Centric War story, and it could be directly followed by a goofy Droid comedy arc. There was something for everyone, and that represents Star Wars the best.

That's why the marketing for TFA felt so aggressive to long-time fans. They claimed to be recapturing the "true Star Wars feel", but to the fans, Star Wars had never left. It lived on in the Prequels, the books, comics, TCW, and the Video Games, and TFA's marketing was a middle finger to all of that.

I agree, what I mostly meant by my post was that as a kid I could always tell something was missing from the OT.
Lucas didn't have the tools he needed to make his world feel alive.
Places like Coruscant and Utapau and Otah Gunga and Kashyyyk etc feel to me like what Lucas wanted to do in the 70's.
They feel closer to imagination.

I could understand maybe the term being used in one of the books or something (though to my knowledge it hasn't), but in the movies, where we have had 6 movies, and plenty of romance, for such a modern-earth term to be uttered casually, was so... Weird.

Well, asians kinda tend to go from fair to yellow, to gold-brown, to (in extreme cases) really brown.

Well you could just take that as an art/design-style thing. They characters aren't really made to look realistic. Like Ezra having blue hair. If there'd be a realistic iteration of him, his hair would probably be black.

Apart from a handful of true gem episodes like Empire Day, Fire Across the Galaxy and Stealth Strike, on the whole I'm dissapointed with how Rebels is turning out compared to TCW. I blame the Disney budget more than I blame Filoni of course, as its totally evident that hes doing his best within constraints. Without all the galaxy hopping, and with the revolving door of recurring characters and locations, the show just feels so much smaller.

But your complaints are valid, TCW did indeed have access to so much more.

If Rebels functioned the way TCW did, we would have had villain arcs ala' Ventress/Maul, and footsoldier centric arcs ala' Umbara.

But hey, here's a silver lining for you;

The idea about a small ragtag crew on a ship, well that was Filoni's original idea for TCW. The Twilight was originally going to function the way the Ghost does, as a hub. That's why it sort of disappears after Season 1, because plans changed, and TCW got so much bigger than originally thought. Filoni made that show great.

With Rebels, he is simply returning to his original concept, and I am sure this show will keep growing positively too

Kinda. The Senate placed taxation on trade routs, which was bad for business. Legal invasion of planets on the down-low somehow would've allowed them to compensate their lost profits from their taxes. But that supposed loophole got fucked and thus seceded from the Republic so the TF didn't have to be subjected to the Republic's restrictions and thus conduct business as they saw fit. Hence their eventual joining of the CIS.

If you're going to make a show about a tight-knit group of characters that centers almost entirely on them, you HAVE to invest significant writing resources into character development, children's show or not.

The fact of the matter is, outside of Kanan and Ezra and Chopper, the Ghost crew is woefully underwritten and one-note. It wouldn't take up more of the budget to write better dialogue and more meaningful characterization. The problem is that Filoni and his crew are still coming at Rebels like they did with Clone Wars, trying to make it a big sweeping epic with limited cash, when instead they should have totally flipped their conventions upside down and done it like a proper intimate character-centric show.

Right now it's this bastardized mess, and now that we're 2 and change seasons in and it's not looking to change the formula from "Clone Wars-lite", I honestly don't have hope for it to get better.

Most of the episodes can be condensed because hardly anything happens in them.
The only thing that contributed to the plot from last episode was Fenn Rau joining the rebels and that was done pretty quickly.
I get that they're gathering resources for the rebellion like Dave said ages ago but he also said that it will pay off eventually.

We saw Rex finally reconnect with his past and stop fighting his demons which is going to shape in to an effective fighter again. He no longer has the burden of the "fight" that never finished. At the same time, we see the CIS is still out there watching the Galactic Civil War. With Sabine, we were given a taste of what's to come. We see Sabine is on the fence about her Mando heritage and her departure caused more problems than she intended. It also gives us the state of Mandalore, the clans and the Empire. The whole episode was a set up for Sabine reconnecting with the Mandalorians and ultimately how they are going to affect the rebellion. If all you got was Fenn Rau, I'm not surprised you think things are filler.

Lucas liked to try seamless integration of things. He would build full-sized sets when practical, small sized models or matte paintings when it wasn't. Regardless all had a degree of digital wizardry combined with them.

So big sets would still have green or blue screen backdrops to integrate alien cityscapes or have speeders zipping in the background and all manner of little embellishments like holographic panels. Same with small sets, but he'd create blue screen "models" like the stairs here >>87550809 so he could overlay the actors walking the tiny models.

It's really the same techniques they used on the OT too but expanded with better effects technology. However it also didn't always quite work when combining actors and models. The composition or lighting, just how they interacted with each other. It's something you can see improving with each of the PT movies and of course it's only gotten better since. TFA, for all the hype of Practical Effects™, uses these exact same methods. If you haven't seen it maybe someone will have the youtube where they show how things like the First Order hanger was created with a series of digital overlays on the set. In the meanwhile here's some of the Behind the Scenes effects work for RotS. They did some pretty cool stuff that didn't always work, like poor Artoo obviously missing part of his body to fit in the droid socket of the Jedi Starfighter.

I remember people back in the day swearing that was shitty CGI that looked like worse than PS2 graphics when the truth is it's actually a matte painting like they used all the time in the OT. The problem was how they added the actors overtop it really didn't work and the painting itself never quite manages to convincingly portray a three dimensional environment. Ah well, they did better by the third PT movie.

LA is a shit tier city, and the only reason it gets any renown is because 1) it's in socal and 2) it's where showbiz happens. The urban sprawl is unimaginable. It's like a thirty cities glued together and you have only a nebulous idea of where they begin and end. I don't know about the middle class being pushed out but it is pretty expensive to live there. It looks nothing like the upper levels showcased in the rest of the films.

The cityscape in blade runner is very proto-coruscant. But when I think of LA, I think of more like what you see in pulp fiction. A lot of nooks and crannies, but while still very spread out. I honestly can't think of anywhere in SW that reminds me of space-LA.

Yeah, pretty good money. I got a big promotion and raise when I agreed to move to second shift. It's been an easy transition (doing my errands before work instead of after) and most of my days are actually easier since I made the change. One of my best decisions to be honest.
