>>87231201In typical stephen king fashion, the ending is rushed and muddy, and a little disappointing.
They try to fight the monster together, get overpowered, and just as things are about to end badly, Ed gets all buffed up, wielding his childish beliefs like a weapon, hurting the monster.
Then DD hits him with his newfound understanding and respect for the occult, further damaging the monster.
Then Eddy hits him with his feelings of belonging and friendship, once more hurting the monster.
The monster, now nearly dead against the combined emotional assault of the Eds, is killed by Marie, who does it 'for her sisters'.
They see the souls of all the kids the monster killed fly free, except for Rolf who lingers, gives them a thumbs up, then flies free.
The cops storm in a few minutes later, find the kids, see the monster's corpse and the chunky puff dungeon.
A secret government agency gets called in, the kids promise not to talk about what happened, and the whole things gets covered up.
The Eds and Marie retreat to their treehouse, to eat jawbreakers and celebrate the dead. DD and Marie kiss.
The jonny plotpoint is never touched on again and remains open.
Over the comign years, the kids drift apart, and forget the horror that befall their little culdesac.
Finally, there's some reference to the dark tower, and boom, it's over.
Thanks for putting up with my bullshit and autism. hope you enjoyed.
